In this the period in which Labour Party politicians or former politicians enjoy immunity from the law despite daily revelations of their corruption, it is important to continue following and documenting why and how the relevant authorities are allowing this impunity, namely the Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa and the Attorney-General Victoria Buttigieg.
We have to go back to the days of their original appointment and follow-up with their superiors of today. There is a faction of the Labour Party, which is currently very significant, and is composed of the useful idiots whose main role in the Party is simply to cover up for its organsied crime and corruption and defend the Labour Party’s horrible positions. This faction can be represented by the likes of the current Justice Minister Jonathan Attard who is Charlon Gouder’s best friend, and with their lesser components such as Jason Micallef: the faction of useful idiots. Jonathan Attard is currently in contact with the Attorney-General Victoria Buttigieg and also piloted an anti-money laundering reform that grossly favours money-launderers. He also acts as a bridge with Joseph Muscat’s criminal clique and the current Labour Party monarchy. These useful idiots have committed their political careers to defending Joseph Muscat and the Labour Party’s orgaised criminality.
They are also the ones mainly doing the dirty-work of covering up by creating dysfunction in the authorities they are responsible for and by enacting laws that favour organsied crime. Along with the useful idiots is Byron Camilleri, who has been onboarded into this camp by being appointed as Minister of Interior. Another useful idiot of this camp is of course, Edward Żammit Lewis who is being allowed to withdraw from politics in shame and silence as opposed to Rosianne Cutajar’s very lively public dejection.
Today, Jonathan Attard’s role is to preserve the dysfunctional and corrupt set-up as ordained by Edward Zammit Lewis. Such a handover could only have been made to someone whose loyalty to the Party supersedes principles: another useful idiot. So, as long as the Labour Party remains in power, there will be a system of useful idiots playing musical chairs to take over State institutions. In fact, Edward Zammit Lewis was the one who ensured the appointment of Victoria Buttigieg as Attorney-General, who had previously made her name and proved her loyalty to the Labour Party as a loyal deputy to the corrupt Attorney-General Peter Grech and by signing away the executive order of Konrad Mizzi to install a power station without Parliament’s approval.
When the vacancy of Attorney General was created back in 2020, before she had even applied, Edward Zammit Lewis called Victoria Buttigieg and told her to apply for the post because, whatever happens and whoever else applies, she is the one who has been chosen for the post of Attorney General. And just like that, Robert Abela installed one of his servile minions to the important post of Attorney General during a rule of law crisis.
Not to mention that she is incredibly incompetent and totally unfit for purpose.
Unfortunately for sincere Labourites and all Maltese law abiding citizens Jonhatan Attard like others of his ilk, were never meant to be competent. All those who had the misfortune to refer to his services when he was serving as a village lawyer know that he is another mediocre and incompetent lawyer. Today labour is litterally stuffed to it’s arsehole with lawyers and aspiring ones. A clear indication of Labour’s eventual downfall.
