Supreme Leader wants to serve as the “check and balance” on the judiciary

Robert Abela

Loading the Dictatorship of the Nouveau Riche Proletariat. In this interview with journalists, yesterday, Supreme Leader Prime Minister Robert Abela said that he wants to serve as a “check and balance” on the judiciary. Didn’t they teach this idiot politics at Saint Aloysius College? Did they do Plato, Aristotle, Hume, Locke and that sort of basic stuff you are supposed to read in your early days of adulthood for a basic understanding of politics?

The executive doesn’t serve as a “check and balance” least of all as a regulator of the judiciary, unless the executive is a dictatorship. The judiciary is often regulated by separate institutions. Supposedly in Malta we have the Commission of Justice presided by the President but it is barely used and its moderating effect rather weak.

Of course, those who are describing Robert Abela’s behavior as fascistic are right. The Labour Party is indeed turning into a party of the far-right which doesn’t respect democracy and rule of law and this has been a consistent theme in my articles here. Attacking and weakening the judiciary is crucial for Labour to achieve absolute power over all institutions and guarantee itself absolute impunity and immunity from the law.

Robert Abela has no control over the majority of the members of the judiciary so he has to contend by threatening Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa and Attorney-General Victoria Buttigieg not to commit any “political terrorism”. He addressed his threat to the judiciary but it’s actually for them. How much political terrorism is Angelo Gafa allowed to commit before he loses his job and defaults on his mega-villa loan?

  1. Expect attacks on the Courts to keep on coming as Muscat will fan the flames to ensure that he prevents justice from ever being done.

  2. The problem is that most of his audience are uneducated idiots and do not know who plato it so they will believe all the lies he is feeding them. Things can get ugly if those in power are not careful.
