Beware, Saviour Balzan because if he doesn’t like you, he may be conspiring against you with powerful people. In the same period when Yorgen Fenech paid up to €100,000 to Adrian Delia in a conspiracy to replace David Casa with Frank Psaila, Saviour Balzan was also conspiring with the Fenech family against Jason Azzopardi.
When it was revealed that Saviour Balzan was in contact with Yorgen Fenech over a press release that Yorgen Fenech issued to deny David Thake’s allegations that he had paid Adrian Delia to replace David Casa in the MEP election, Saviour Balzan wrote an article attacking Jason Azzopardi. He accused him, among other things, of being a whistleblower and leaking Yorgen Fenech’s chats. This was not true because the source of the chats is clearly not Jason Azzopardi, as anyone who is able to deduce some obvious features in the leaks would know. Let’s move on.
Saviour Balzan, the media owner of MediaToday and MaltaToday, helped Yorgen Fenech pen a rebuttal that he paid money to Adrian Delia to help him in a scheme to replace David Casa as an MEP. The allegation happened to be true and there is also more evidence that can come out that also explicitly proves this. Saviour Balzan said he was only helping Yorgen Fenech as a courtesy and because he was his past student and some other crap. This was not true. As the extensive chats show, Saviour Balzan had a very close relationship with Keith Schembri and Yorgen Fenech. This was already when Yorgen Fenech was known to be the owner of 17 Black and tried to launder money with Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi from the corrupt Electrogas project. During this same time, people like Evarist Bartolo, Chris Fearne, Randolph Debattista and other less significant people like myself in the Labour Party were constantly demanding Joseph Muscat the resignation of Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi both from the government and the Labour Party. Then November 2019 came and Saviour Balzan pretended he was duped.
Today, Saviour Balzan is the organiser of the Association of Media Owners and serves Prime Minister Robert Abela directly with propaganda. If you deduce this situation in very simple terms, one of Malta’s biggest media owners and government propagandists conspires with powerful people and those in government against his enemies and those he doesn’t like. This is a very convenient alliance between Saviour Balzan and the Labour government – one which is abusive and distorts completely our press and publishing industry.
I did not conclude that Saviour Balzan is a fraud with these chats. I also gave him the benefit of the doubt about them. I realised what a total schemer Saviour Balzan is when he concocted a fraudulent story with Robert Abela and reproduced it in MaltaToday that lied about the Magisterial Inquiry on Jean-Paul Sofia’s death being delayed – it wasn’t. Saviour Balzan back then was helping the PR and propaganda of the Prime Minister during a political crisis caused by a grieving mother, and he did this by producing fake stories and using his newspaper to disseminate these stories. Kurt Sansone, today’s editor of MaltaToday wants us to believe, that his newsroom, is free from the dark influences and conspiracies of his boss, Saviour Balzan. Fat chance.
