The court expert did not confirm that Keith Schembri’s phone was sealed in an evidence bag

Keith Schembri

There’s a mistake on MaltaToday’s reporting about the ongoing court shenanigans of Keith Schembri’s mobile phone, and I could confirm this with witnesses to the court case. I think the mistake is a simple omission or oversight, and I can vouch for journalist Matthew Agius.

However, the court expert did not confirm that Keith Schembri’s phone was sealed in an evidence bag, and on the contrary. The Times of Malta seems to have the correct reporting.

Since then I have also learned that during the court sitting of the 10th of November, when Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech held court to exculpate herself, several high-profile lawyers attended the court session to support Edward Gatt’s challenges to the Magistrate over her incredible mishandling of an important piece of evidence.  It was a rare show of discontent by lawyers against a sitting Magistrate who has consistently and repeatedly shown a great disdain for ethics apart from repeated irregular and outlandish and corrupt behaviour.
