In the recent court case where a man was fined €10,000 for a meme mocking down-syndrome people, only one MP has spoken out with a perspective in favour of free speech: Mark-Anthony Sammut from PN.
None of the Labour MPs or Labour Party officials gave their position. Daniel Micallef who was very fond of campaigns for free speech during the Nationalist administrations is busy attending government conferences and insulting journalists for questioning him.
Incredible how the tables turn. Ten years ago I was fighting the Nationalist governments on censorship and free speech. Now, it’s the other way round.
Part of the duopoly. Not to be trusted by default.
