Magistrate Joe Mifsud has just refused an arraignment

In another gaffe by the impeachable magistrate Joe Mifsud, today, Mifsud just refused to sign off an arraignment as duty magistrate while the accused is still locked up. Arraignments have to take place within 48 hours of the arrest.

The magistrate has cited a lack of staff for his refusal but this is rather unprecedented and rarely if ever has it happened.
