Today, I could confirm that Silvio Schembri acquired the apartment he is residing in Ta Xbiex from Josef Dimech, a Maltese aluminum businessman who has just acquired a large tract of public land for a steep discount against which he is using as collateral for a bond issue.
For the past few years, under Robert Abela’s benediction, Silvio Schembri has executed numerous highly irregular public deals with the government’s portfolio of public lands. So far, he could evade allegations of corruption but the dirt is piling up.
I still need to confirm whether Silvio Schembri bought or leased the apartment.
This is the same person, Josef Dimech, who took 6 feet from our road without any compensation from 15 families (15 built terrace house) living in Triq Il-Kan Karmenu Pirotta Birkirkara, after lobbying with Transport Malta and the Planning Authority.
